A: We have been doing Business Since 1955 ! Arthur and Patricia Hardy first visited De Stoop Brothers in 1955 and purchased a lovely engagement ring. How prices have changed. A $200 purchase in 1955 was re-valued in 1983 for $1,500 and is today valued at approximately $3,000. Needless to say Patricia and Arthur are thrilled. “We came here so many years ago, so much has changed, but you’re still here, doing a great job” Arthur Hardy. So for a good long-term investment, look at buying wholesale from a genuine supplier. Opals, Diamonds and Pearls are all available at great discount rates and we still provide the best service available. Take it from Patricia and Arthur!

Q: How do we offer such low prices and large discounts?

A: a) We don't pay for premium retail shopfront space. Our store located at Park House, Level 3, 295-301 Pitt St Sydney does not attract the same excessive overheads as other jewellery retailers in the CBD. Because we cut all our own jewellery, we need a unique location. Becausee of this we pass the saving to you. b) We cut our own jewellery. We don't outsource it and hereby reduce another middle man and can pass the saving to you. c) When we evaluate a price for you we determine it's retail value using jewellery trade indexes and then roughly halve it and list the product in our store and on the site here.

Q: True or False? Diamonds are more rare than opals?

A: False! Opals are approximately 50 times rarer than diamonds!

Q: What are imitation pearls?

A: Imitation pearls are made from crushed fish scales (mainly herring) and mixed with epoxy resin!
